Brief Introduction about CNTO

In recent years, Belt and Road Initiative takes China-Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) tourism cooperation on fast track. The China National Tourist Office (CNTO), Budapest is the first tourist office established by China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) in CEEC. CNTO Budapest is one of the 23 overseas offices of the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) which is headquartered in Beijing. CNTO, Budapest is the implementation of Belt and Road Initiative by CNTA, as well as the specific achievements of China-CEEC tourism cooperation. It undertakes the glorious mission of tourism diplomacy and the responsibility of tourism promotion.

Tourism is a booming industry in China. The comprehensive contribution rate of Chinese tourism to national economy and social employment is over 10%, higher than world average rate. China's tourism industry has entered a golden developing period, which is an important driving force for economic development and a more prominent strategic pillar industry. China has maintained the status of the largest outbound tourist country and the fourth largest inbound tourist destination in the world for many years. It is estimated China’s total tourism revenue reached 690 billion euros in 2017, 358 billion more than 2012, annually growing 15.8% each year; inbound tourists in 2017 were as many as 139 million, 5% higher than 2012.

CNTA is the governmental tourism organization directly regulated by the State Council, whose responsibility is to promote and administer China's tourism industry. CNTO, Budapest is in charge of tourism cooperation affairs with the 16 CEEC, including Hungary. As a non-profit governmental representative office, its mission is to develop tourism diplomatic relationship and promote all aspects of tourism about China within CEEC.

We will take great efforts to establish a bridge of communication between the CNTA and the CEEC governmental sectors, travel associations, media and Chinese and foreign travel consumers, so as to facilitate the world’s perception of China’s tourism and make tourism serve society and people better.
